ABOUT DRUMM

Drumm Farm Center for Children's mission is to provide nurturing and inclusive services that inspire and yield lifelong success of children, young adults, and families.

Camp

Nestled among 32 acres of tall trees and rolling hills, the historic Drumm Farm campus is a safe space, committed to offering a guiding light to area youth since its inception in 1919. Drumm's HOME Program is a rent-free foster village community for families providing foster care, the COMPASS Program provides transitional-living apartments for youth experiencing homelessness, and its Street Outreach Services Program serves young adults living with housing instability across the Kansas City metro. In September of 2022, Drumm started its New Beginnings Program to serve young/teen parents and their babies experiencing homelessness, ensuring both parent and child have the resources and support needed to thrive.

All are welcome at Drumm, and in addition to the walking trails, playground, gymnasium, disc golf course, and fishing/kayaking pond, everyone under the Drumm umbrella has complimentary-access to wraparound support systems including educational interventions and tutoring, trauma-informed case management, and individualized counseling support with licensed therapists on staff.

Thank you for your support of these vital programs and the youth they serve. We couldn't do it without you.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Q: When/where is the gala being held?
  • A: The gala will be hosted on Friday, April 26th right here on our campus. The program will be held in our gymnasium with a tent positioned just outside for check-in and perusing auction items. The cocktail hour begins at 5:30pm and the program and dinner will start a little after 6:30pm.
  • Q: Is there a dress code?
  • A: This is a "jeans formal" event. Please wear what is comfortable for you. For those who would wish to wear heels, please be advised that part of the event tent will be on grass.
  • Q: I've never been to a farm gala, will there be animals present?
  • A: Glad you asked! Assuming nature takes its course as anticipated, we hope to have a nearby petting area with baby goats and/or sheep available for photo opportunities.
  • Q: I see that there are auction items listed on this website. Do I have to wait until the 26th to start bidding?
  • A: Nope! The silent auction will open on Friday, April 19th and will close during the evening of the event. There will also be an opportunity to bid on some of the larger items through a live-auction format.
  • Q: I would really love to attend the event, but I'm out of town. Can I still bid on items?
  • A: YES! Once the auction opens, you may bid on silent auction items in real-time as if you were at the event, and you can even set your max-bid preferences for our live-auction items so the auctioneer can act as a proxy for you.
  • Q: Where do I go?
  • A: There will be signage directing you to our south parking lot once you enter the property. Once parked, you will walk to the tent positioned in front of our gymnasium to check in.
  • Q: I cannot attend the event but would still love to support the youth you serve. What is the easiest way to do that?
  • A: Thank you for your support! Any donation made on this site will go directly to our general programming, or if you would like to support our mission on a monthly basis you can join our Drumm Crew to pledge a monthly gift of your choosing.
